I’d rather be hiking or painting. However, COVID19 is the biggest challenge our world has faced in generation. I can help people:

• better understand the situation and what we can all do
• recognize data and information is powerful and can be used as a tool to help in this battle
• look forward. There will be challenges, but we will have the opportunity to learn and improve our lives and our world.

We are all in this together. The adversary is not a person or people, not a country, not an ethnicity, race, religion. Our common enemy is a virus.
Let us all confront this challenge with compassion and understanding for others. Recognize the sacrifices and contributions from everyone…especially those on the front lines.

The freedoms, opportunities, and healthcare we are afforded should never be taken for granted. Many others in this world are not as fortunate.

Data Driven Analytics Approach

• Whenever possible, let data help drive decisions and understanding.
• Question data and information sources and dig into it.
• The more granular the data, the better.
• Gain understanding by listening to domain experts who can provide context (with COVID19, that is the scientific community, epidemiologists, virologists. immunologists, etc.).
• Data should be used as a tool…but sources can’t always be trusted. There can be obvious bias, and less obvious motivations behind reported numbers and projections.
• Good analytics is both an art and a science.
